New Years Resolutions for our Pets

Posted on by

As we start the New Year, most of us think of resolutions for ourselves to improve our overall health and happiness.

We need it include our pets in our resolutions as well.  The following are a few of my favorite resolutions for our pets:

  • You want to make sure that your pet is examined by your veterinarian at least once pre year.  A full physical examination, appropriate vaccinations and preventative care are critical for keeping your pet healthy.
  • You should evaluate your pets overall exercise routine.  All pets benefit from exercise.  It is great for physical and mental stimulation.  Exercise also helps to burn extra calories to help manage your pets weight.
  • Would your pet benefit from a better quality diet?  Should you feed less treats or table food?  Now is the time to consider better nutrition for your pet.
  • The start of the New Year is a great time to create a disaster plan that includes your pet.  Make sure that you have emergency supplies, food and medications if needed quickly.

We hope that 2016 is a happy and healthy New Year for you and your pets.
